We tried really hard to find a good spot to watch the sunset this evening, but couldn’t find anything we liked with a good view of the sun setting and an interesting foreground. We had given up and returned to the motel for the night when we happened to glance across the little lake next to the motel…
The butterflies and bees were out in force on the trail below Bridal Veil Falls.
These are some of the lovely flowers beside the trail along the stream below Bridal Veil Falls on Manitoulin Island.
Bridal Veil Falls is a very popular waterfall on Manitoulin Island. We arrived early enough to get a good parking spot, but didn’t find the falls all that impressive. There is though a lovely trail beside the stream at the bottom of the falls. There are a number of small waterfalls on the hill beside the trail, and many beautiful spring flowers.
There was a lot more water coming over the main falls when we returned from hiking the trail, but the area was nearly full of people. Cars were parked for a long distance down the highway.
This waterfall is just off Highway 6 on Manitoulin Island.
